C.D. Smith provided Design-Build services for the construction of Kondex Corporation’s manufacturing plant and corporate offices. Construction completed in the fall of 2007, consisted of 115,000 feet of manufacturing plant space and 40,000 square feet of office space.
Kondex is a manufacturer of cutting parts and related equipment for the Agricultural, Turf, and Lawn & Garden industries. The building was designed to be a showcase for their manufacturing processes while offering a comfortable and bright work environment for their plant and office personnel. The building includes unique features such as an on-site primary power substation, employee amenities and the entire plant is air conditioned.
The project is an example of extraordinary collaboration between the owner, engineer and C.D. Smith, meeting the schedule with minimal change orders.
